Maybe you think that the events of The Avengers means Steve trusts these guys implicitly. ![]() As for Hawkeye - well, Steve knows that SHIELD is after him and that Clint Barton is a SHIELD agent. Does Stark have high enough clearance to know what Insight is and to be part of the corruption within SHIELD? Steve can't be sure, and he doesn't really trust Stark as much as he'd like, even after the events of New York. That means he can't call Tony Stark, if only because he knows that Stark Industries supplied the repulsor technology to SHIELD to make the Insight Helicarriers. The last words he got from Nick Fury were "Don't trust anyone," and he decides to take it seriously. He goes from the hospital directly to SHIELD HQ, where he is promptly attacked and must go on the run. Once Nick Fury is shot Steve's life goes out of control. I'll break it down in terms of story first, character second and storytelling third. That's pretty much all the answer you should need, but I have some others for you. The team includes the likes of Florence Pugh's top-drawer assassin Yelena Belova, David Harbour's perpetually hungover Russian answer to Captain America, Alexei Shostakov, and Wyatt Russell's evil Cap, John Walker.Fans on the internet have been wondering aloud: where were Iron Man and Hawkeye during the world-shaking events of Captain America: The Winter Soldier? Why didn't Steve Rogers reach out to his Avengers pals to help him in his time of need? They're a team of rehabilitated supervillains who help out from time to time, with a movie coming in mid-2024. Look, there're gonna be dozens of curveballs in the interim, so there's almost zero chance that this is gonna be the right lineup. Then there's Riri “Ironheart” Williams (Dominique Thorne), the teen genius in an Iron Man-esque metal exoskeleton who came in clutch in the battle between Wakanda and Namor's Talokan. Marvel (Kamala Khan, played by Iman Vellani) isn't Captain Marvel's understudy per se, but they are set to team up in The Marvels this year. Then there're the protegés of the present Avengers: it's well within the realm of possibility that America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez), the powerful multiverse jumper introduced in Doctor Strange 2, will be a central Avenger by the time The Kang Dynasty rolls around. And he's an Avenger in some of the big comic storylines. One hotly anticipated title is Blade, introducing Mahershala Ali's titular vampire killer the TV series Daredevil: Born Again, coming in 2024, is set to bring Charlie Cox's blind super-fighter into the mainstream Marvel fold, following appearances in She-Hulk and Spider-Man: No Way Home. At Comic-Con last July, Marvel added a swathe of new series and movies to their slate, along with dating some of their previously announced projects.
